Lady Vipers Lacrosse Club Overview
Lady Vipers Lacrosse is the club team for Vandegrift High School Girls Lacrosse and Lady Vipers Youth Lacrosse. Our high school team is Division I with both Varsity and JV teams.
Our Mission: Inspiring Greatness Together, being Second to None, developing future leaders while striving to be increasingly competitive at the D1 level in Texas and continually improving every year. We have a fun, uplifting, motivating environment. We develop future leaders, inspired by phenomenal role models.
Our competitive program delivered strong results in 2017:
- JV had an UNDEFEATED regular season and took 2nd place in the District
- Varsity went to the District semi-finals
- 5 Varsity Lady Vipers made Team Central Texas competing at the US Lacrosse Women's Tournament at Yale University.
- Awards: 2 All-State, 3 All-district, 1 Academic-All American, 1 Jackie Pitts.
Lady Vipers Program Director and Head Varsity Coach is Alyssa Murray. Alyssa Murray is a member of the highly prestigious US Women’s National lacrosse team where she has been a member since 2014 and was 1 of 19 members selected for the World Cup and World Games Summer 2017.
In the summer of 2017, Alyssa and US Women’s Lacrosse Team USA won two gold medals: the World Cup gold medal and the World Games gold medal!
Prior to Lady Vipers, Coach Murray served as a Assistant Coach at Yale University and Assistant Coach at University of Michigan. Most recently she was head coach at St. Stephen’s High school in Austin where she led her team to states.
High School players, ages 14-18, get a fun, supportive and competitive environment to learn Lacrosse. Players are encouraged to play the entire year with Fall training and play dates followed by the Spring league play.
Lady Vipers 5th - 8th grade lacrosse is the feeder program for Vandegrift High School Girls’ Lacrosse. The main goal is teaching the game of lacrosse by learning and mastering basic skills. Girls can participate in Lacrosse while playing other Spring sports.
