Program Director/Head Coach

Coach Katie is native of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. She began her coaching career with Cedar Park High School, where she was the head JV coach from 2018-2020, then with Westwood High School as the assistant varsity coach for two years. Both years that Coach Katie was with Westwood, their varsity team made the state playoffs. As well as coaching high school, she also coaches  the Grit Austin 2025 team and previously coached the Anderson youth teams. And, now we welcome Coach Katie as the director and head coach for Vandegrift High School. 

Coach Katie has been playing lacrosse since 3rd grade. Where her love for the sport continued through high school. She competed at the varsity level, leading her team to the state championship game her senior year. Coach Katie led New Hampshire in assists with an average of 3 assists a game. She was announced New Hampshire Scholar Athlete her senior year. As well as playing lacrosse, she also lettered in soccer and basketball. Coach Katie attended Saint Michael’s College, who competes in the Northeast – 10 conference. Transferring from Saint Michael’s College to Thomas College where she led her team to a conference championship game.  

 

Jackie vasquez

Youth Director

Jackie Vasquez is from Falls Church, Virginia where she began playing lacrosse at age 10. She played throughout school, playing all-district and all-region 1st teams in high school and playing club lacrosse for The College of William and Mary. After school, she relocated to Austin, Texas where she began coaching for JV, Varsity and club lacrosse teams. She has coached at Austin High School, Vandegrift High School, for Iron Horse Lacrosse and currently at Legend Lacrosse.

Varsity Assistant Coach

Coach Maddie is from Vero Beach Florida and has been playing lacrosse since she was 9 years old. She played for the Vero Beach high school lacrosse team where she was a four-year varsity letter recipient and helped her team to win a state championship in 2015. She later went on to become a 2-time offensive player of the year and an All American.

After her high school career, she went on to play D1 at the University of Florida where her team won their conference championship all four years. During her time at Florida she was also on the all- academic team while the school was ranked as a top 10 public school in the nation.

She graduated with a degree in Advertising in May of 2022. Following graduation, she moved to Austin to begin her career as a Business Development Consultant at Oracle. In Maddie’s free time, she enjoys working out, reading, and boating.

 

Rebecca wilen

 Goalie Coach/Assistant Coach

 

Coach Rebecca is from Mt. Laurel, NJ where she started playing lacrosse in the 5th grade, and began training as a goalie shortly after. She played 4 years of varsity in high school, starting her sophomore through senior years and helping lead her team to two state championship appearances, winning her Junior year. She also played for the South Jersey Select (SJS) club team. 

Throughout high school and college, Coach Rebecca was involved in Israel lacrosse, helping introduce the sport across the state and as a part of the Israeli U19 National Team at the 2015 U19 World Championships in Scotland. 

She went on to play at the DIII collegiate level for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and is now pursuing a PhD at UT-Austin. Coach Rebecca is also the goalie coach for Grit, and is excited to join the Lady Vipers coaching staff this year! 

Sierra Yoder

Head JV Coach

Coach Sierra was born in Pennsylvania where she was introduced to lacrosse in fourth grade. In 2011 Sierra and her family moved to Austin where she became a former Lady Viper Lacrosse player, class of 2019. She was a four-year varsity letter recipient, all-state, all-district, 2x captain and nominated Second to None twice. After her high school career, she went to play D2 lacrosse at Saint Leo University in Florida. Sierra played all four years as an attacker and was nominated for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll twice. She graduated May 2023 with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Sierra moved back to Austin and as a Project Development Analyst for Aypa Power. Outside of lacrosse and work Sierra loves to wake surf and fly drones.

 

Taylor Hofmeister

My name is Tayler, I was born in Maryland and started playing lacrosse in Kindergarten. My family moved to Texas when I was going into 4th grade, I played vipers from 4th-8th grade. In highSchool i went to saint dominic savio CHS and played cedar park lacrosse where i was captain junior and senior year.  I played D1 lacrosse at Presbyterian College in South carolina. I was an attacker and nominated for IWLCA Academic Honor roll junior and senior year. I graduated in May of 2023 Magna Cum Laude majoring in business administration concentration in accounting and management with a minor in political science. I moved back to Austin to go to UT Austin and get my masters in accounting. I love playing lacrosse, baking and just hanging out with friends!
