Program Director/Head Coach:

Coach Katie is native of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. She began her coaching career with Cedar Park High School, where she was the head JV coach from 2018-2020, then with Westwood High School as the assistant varsity coach for two years. Both years that Coach Katie was with Westwood, their varsity team made the state playoffs. As well as coaching high school, she also coaches  the Grit Austin 2025 team and previously coached the Anderson youth teams. And, now we welcome Coach Katie as the director and head coach for Vandegrift High School. 

Coach Katie has been playing lacrosse since 3rd grade. Where her love for the sport continued through high school. She competed at the varsity level, leading her team to the state championship game her senior year. Coach Katie led New Hampshire in assists with an average of 3 assists a game. She was announced New Hampshire Scholar Athlete her senior year. As well as playing lacrosse, she also lettered in soccer and basketball. Coach Katie attended Saint Michael’s College, who competes in the Northeast – 10 conference. Transferring from Saint Michael’s College to Thomas College where she led her team to a conference championship game.  

Tatum Eades

Tatum is from Darien, Connecticut where she started lacrosse at the age of eight. She attended boarding school at The Taft School where she graduated in 2022. She now attends the University of Texas at Austin and plays for the Women’s Club Lacrosse team.

Jackie Vasquez

Youth Director/Coach

Jackie Vasquez is from Falls Church, Virginia where she began playing lacrosse at age 10. She played throughout school, playing all-district and all-region 1st teams in high school and playing club lacrosse for The College of William and Mary. After school, she relocated to Austin, Texas where she began coaching for JV, Varsity and club lacrosse teams. She has coached at Austin High School, Vandegrift High School, for Iron Horse Lacrosse and currently at Legend Lacrosse.

 

Doug Burkott

Youth Coordinator/Coach

Coach Burkott started playing lacrosse in college at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale.  He was recruited by a member of his fraternity and helped found the SIU men's lacrosse team.  After graduation, he pursued a masters degree and played lacrosse at the University of Missouri - Columbia.  Currently, he works for Dell Medical School at UT Austin as Director of Enterprise IT Portfolio Management.  He and his wife, Jaime, have two girls, Piper and Zoe, who play for Lady Vipers youth lacrosse.

Penelope LaScala

Coach Penelope was born and raised in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey where she first started playing lacrosse at the age of 8. She played throughout middle school and high school, where she was named captain for her senior season at Bergen County Academies. Penelope graduated high school in 2022 and now goes to the University of Texas at Austin where she is on the women’s lacrosse team.

Emma Graham

Coach Emma is originally from San Ramon, California, but now calls Houston, Texas home. Emma graduated from The Village High School in 2022 and now attends the University of Texas at Austin. She played soccer from age 3 through high school, has been playing lacrosse since 7th grade and now plays for the University of Texas women’s lacrosse team.

Emma was captain of her High School Varsity soccer and lacrosse teams her junior and senior years and currently holds 11 out of 18 records for her High School Lacrosse team. She was also named Female Athlete of the Year and MVP across her sports at Village. Emma was also named on the All-District Team her senior year.
