Lady Vipers Lacrosse Youth Players & Family,

Welcome back to a new season of girls' lacrosse!  We hope everyone had a great summer and are ready for Fall Ball to begin. First, we'd like to formally introduce a couple of new but familiar faces to the Youth program.  Dr. Rachel Peck, who has coached youth and high school for us, agreed to be our Youth Director, a newly created position which will strive to grow and develop our Youth program with an eye towards successful transition to the High School program.  Her focus will be on coaching staff and player development strategies.

Doug Burkott, our youth coach for 3rd-4th graders, has taken on the additional role of Youth Coordinator.  He will be your liaison to the Board of Directors and manage ground operation of the Youth program. Please reach out to them for questions about Fall Ball or the youth program in general.

This year, we are offering a free clinic on Monday Sept. 13th so interested players can try out lacrosse prior to committing themselves to Fall Ball Registration.  Fall Ball consists of 5 weekly hour long sessions on Mondays starting on Sept. 20th and ending on Oct. 18th. Details below. Spread the word to your friends!  Registration will open on August 30th and close September 26th.  Stay tuned for Spring Registration information coming in November.

Feel free to forward this to anyone who might be interested in playing Lady Vipers Lacrosse. If you wish to cease communications from us, reply to this email with UNSUBSCRIBE in the Subject line.

Go Vipers!

Each day will be themed (Neon, Costume, Pink, Western, and Tie Dye) so girls can optionally dress for that day's theme. Bring your own clearly labelled water bottle to practice, along with goggles, mouth guard, stick and cleats. Mouth guards are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for safety.   A limited number of spare sticks and goggles may be available.

As we all know, Safety and Covid 19 policies have been in a dynamic state of late.  Currently, LISD is recommending mask wearing and social distancing.  See their Health Response Protocols for more information.  In regards to Fall Ball, we are observing the following guidelines:
  1. Stay home if you are feeling sick.

  2. If a player is unvaccinated, wearing a mask is encouraged.

  3. Stay arms length plus a stick apart from each other.

Wearing face masks is recommended if they are not maintaining at least 6 feet of social distancing. Depending on number of players, coaches may set up stations with girls in small groups which help in maintaining social distancing. For additional information on these guidelines, please visit UIL Covid-19 Risk Mitigation Guidelines.

  4. Players should be aware of their mouth guards.

Since we are all sharing the lacrosse balls, mouth guards should be kept in place as much as you can.  Hand sanitizer is at the ball bag for all to use.  If you are needing a new or different mouth guard, there are many options at Academy or Dick's Sporting Goods.  This one is liked by most of the high schoolers and easy to mold: Sisu Mouth Guard on Amazon. If you have questions, ask your coach!
